Brian Ingerson has been programming for over twenty years, and hacking Perl for the last five. He is dedicated to improving the overall quality of Open Source scripting languages; especially Perl, Python, PHP and Ruby. Although primarily a Perl programmer and devotee, most of his projects are geared towards enabling all of these languages to work more closely together. His major accomplishments include:
- Inline.pm - Binding over 15 programming languages to Perl
- YAML - A common data serialization language for all scripting languages
- FreePAN.org - A CPAN-like archive for all Open Source languages
Brian is an award-winning Perl module author, a part time tech writer and a regular speaker at Perl Conferences. He regularly attends many Open Source Software users group meetings in the Pacific Northwest.
